MATTER OF THE DESCRIPTIVE TEXT

What is descriptive text? Descriptive text is the text which says what a person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.

And a descriptive text usually focuses on describing a single location, object, event, person, or place. It endeavors to engage all five of the reader’s senses to evoke the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and feel of the text’s subject.

Do you know? The descriptive text also has a structure, and its structure is

~identification then

~description

And the feature languages of descriptive text are:

– Specific objects: have certain, uncommon, and unique objects (only one).

– The use of adjectives (adjectives) to clarify the nature of objects.

– The use of simple present tense: The sentence pattern used to tell the facts of the object

– Action verbs: verbs that show an activity

The steps to writing a great descriptive text are: 

-select a topic

-write a thesis statement

-evoke the subject's essence

-create an outline

-write, write and write

-redraft, edit, proofread

and finish writing!
